The dog owner can do this by giving positive associations to your dog or by using conditioning training tools.

Furthermore, this type of training is effective for dogs who are fearful of fireworks.

4. Observational learning

Observational learning also is known as social learning because in this learning process crop up through observing the behavior of other dogs.

Your home dog is a social species and its social dependency makes it familiar with the behavior of other dogs, which commit to its own behavior and learning capability.

5. Cognitive Learning

Dog cognition is the process in dogs of acquiring, storing in memory, combining, comparing, retrieving, & using in new situations information and theoretical skills. So in here, dogs will achieve & process information, rather than developing conditioned responses to an incentive.

Dog Training methods

After knowing all the dog learning conditions, now it’s time to check effective dog training methods that everyone can try at home.

  1. Clicker training method:

In clicker training method we can use a unique sound or a click to tell your dog that he has done something right. This method is based on operant conditioning. You can easily use a small hand-held device called ‘clicker’ which gives a ‘click’ sound after it pressed. This is a great way to motivate your dogs to learn new things such as actions & behaviors.

2. Electronic training method:

Electronic training depends on the use of an electric collar that gives an electric shock or a spray of citronella when a dog is not performing a craved task.

With the use of this electric collar, your dog will learn what to do at the right time. As the dog owner, you should need to buy the most suitable collar that suits your needs.

3. Relationship-based training method:

Relationship-based training is the most effective training method which improves your dog’s physical and mental health.

Basically in this method, the owner needs to understand their dog’s body language. After having a good understanding he needs to teach the behavior without any distractions. Gradually increase the difficulty but don’t move to the next step until the last step has been completed.

Finally, the process leads to a deep and meaningful bond between you and your dog.

4. Model-rival training method:

The model-rival training method is based on the observational learning process. That means the trainer needs to have a model who has good behavior or a rival to compete for the right task. Using the model, the trainer should teach behavioral concepts to the dog.

5.Dominance-based training method:

Dominance-based training method help to reduce the dog’s fear, anxiety, and aggression. In the process of dominance training, dogs will form into a group of the pack. Then your dog will try to become the top dog among the pack. So the trainer needs to read the dog’s body language and train the behaviors.

6. Koehler method:

The Koehler method was originally developed to retrain Army dogs in 1962 to teach the dog that his comfort/discomfort is the direct result of his choices & actions.

A choke collar & a long leash use to control the behavior of the dog. This way of training is not ideal for soft-tempered dog and this will lead your dog into aggressive behavior.
